Rooted in over twenty years of experience in the alpaca fur industry, our work combines traditional craftsmanship, refined design, and deep knowledge of one of the world's most remarkable natural fibers.

Material & Product Details

Baby alpaca is a fine classification of alpaca fibre valued for its softness, warmth, and refined texture. Its fineness gives the material a smooth, comfortable feel while maintaining lightness and resilience in use.

Naturally low in lanolin, alpaca fibre is often well tolerated by those sensitive to traditional wool. Its smooth, lightweight structure contributes to a softer and more comfortable feel against the skin.

As with natural fibres generally, slight shedding may occur occasionally, particularly during early use. This is a natural characteristic of fine alpaca fibre and typically diminishes over time with regular care.

Because alpaca is a natural material, slight variations in texture, tone, and pile direction may occur from piece to piece. These distinctions are part of what gives the material its depth, softness, and natural character.

Alpaca is valued not only for its softness, but also for its resilience. Its fine fibre structure offers strength, reduced pilling, and lasting texture when properly cared for. Over time, high-quality alpaca maintains its softness and visual depth exceptionally well, making it a material suited to long-term use.

Care & Longevity

Care recommendations vary depending on the construction of the piece.

Alpaca fur products may be lightly vacuumed, dusted, or spot cleaned with a soft damp cloth when needed. To preserve the texture and structure of the material, machine washing and tumble drying are not recommended. Professional specialist care may be considered for more thorough cleaning.

Alpaca fabric pieces may generally be washed using a delicate wool setting with cold water, though air drying is always recommended to help preserve the texture and integrity of the material over time.

Alpaca pieces should be stored in a cool, dry environment with breathable covering. Avoid prolonged compression and excessive heat to help preserve the texture and character of the fibre over time.

Like all natural materials, alpaca evolves subtly through use. With proper care, the fibre retains its softness and depth while developing a more relaxed and settled character over time.

Yes. Occasional light brushing with a soft textile brush may help maintain the direction and appearance of the fibre over time. Gentle handling is recommended to preserve the natural texture of the material.

Material & Sourcing

Our materials are sourced from specialised alpaca producers selected for consistency, fibre quality, and responsible handling standards. Selection is guided by texture, density, softness, and long-term material performance.

Each material is evaluated for softness, structure, tonal balance, and overall consistency. Natural variation remains part of the character of alpaca, though every selection is made with a focus on refinement and long-term use.

Yes. Alpaca is a natural fibre with subtle variation in tone, texture, and pile direction. These distinctions contribute to the depth and individuality of each piece and are considered part of the material’s natural character.

Interiors & Use

Alpaca rugs introduce warmth, softness, and visual depth most naturally in spaces intended for comfort and slower use, such as living rooms, bedrooms, and reading areas.

Yes. Alpaca is valued not only for softness, but for the way it performs through regular use. With appropriate care, the material maintains its comfort, texture, and presence over time.

Texture shapes how a room is experienced beyond what colour alone can achieve. Alpaca introduces softness, tonal depth, and material contrast that contribute to a quieter and more layered interior atmosphere.
