1. Care Advice
To ensure the beauty and longevity of your alpaca fur products, we recommend keeping them out of direct sunlight for extended periods. While the natural fibers are durable, prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause colors to fade over time.
To preserve the vibrant hues and soft texture, we suggest displaying your items in a shaded area or rotating them to minimize sun exposure.
2. Brush Gently
To keep the fur looking plush and soft, use a soft-bristle brush or a pet slicker brush to gently brush the fibers in the direction of the fur. This will help prevent tangles and restore the natural fluffiness.
3. Spot Cleaning
For minor spills or stains, use a damp cloth with cold water and gently blot the affected area. Avoid rubbing, as this can cause matting. If needed, use a mild detergent specifically designed for delicate fibers. Be sure to test it on a small, inconspicuous area first. After cleaning, you can blow-dry at low temperature with a blow-dryer.
In case of unusual filth on your fur product, we recommend that you put some talcum powder or cornmeal into the fleece, rub gently, and then shake off the excess. This should help remove the filth from the fiber by absorbing any dirt or spill.
4. Avoid Machine Washing
Do not machine wash or tumble dry alpaca fur products. Water and heat can damage the fur’s natural fibers and affect its softness. Instead, spot clean or take your item to a professional cleaner experienced with fur products.
5. Air Drying
If the fur gets damp, allow it to air dry in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Once dry, brush the fur gently to restore its texture.
6. Proper Storage
When not in use, store alpaca fur products in a cool, dry place. To prevent dust accumulation, use a breathable cloth storage bag (avoid plastic). Hang items like coats on padded hangers to maintain their shape. Ensure they are stored away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
7. Avoid Harsh Chemicals
Keep alpaca fur away from harsh chemicals, such as bleach or strong cleaning agents, as they can damage the natural fibers. If deep cleaning is required, consult a professional fur cleaner.
8. Dealing with Shedding
Alpaca fur may naturally shed a little over time. To minimize shedding, give the product a light shake outside every now and then, and avoid pulling at loose fibers.
